Keeping Your Wardrobe Organized

Keeping Your Wardrobe Organized
We’re busy women.

Work, home, children, endless household responsibilities, and the daily parade of pots and pans have a way of devouring our time like a many-headed dragon. And once again, we find ourselves wondering whether some clever inventor has finally come up with a time machine.

Yet no matter how busy life gets, there’s one feeling we all carry with us: we still want to move through our days feeling beautiful.

And if we’re already battling the windmills of everyday life, wouldn’t it be nice if our mornings didn’t begin with the dreaded thought, “I have nothing to wear,” but instead with the much happier question, “What beautiful outfit shall I wear today?”

Having clothes that suit you and make you happy is essential.

But even the most thoughtfully curated wardrobe can become overwhelming once clutter starts creeping in.

Believe me—I know.

These words describe me just as much as anyone else. My days are incredibly busy, and not only do I create outfits for myself every morning, I also share them with you through my videos. Sometimes I try to fit so much into a single day that my schedule starts bursting at the seams.

And do you know what suffers first?

My favourite little sanctuary—my wardrobe.

Sometimes I leave it in such chaos that when I’m searching for one particular top—or worse, one tiny accessory—I end up storming through the shelves like a kettle about to boil over… and I walk out the door annoyed with one person only:

Myself.

That’s why I’ve made wardrobe resets part of my routine. In fact, I gave mine a proper refresh yesterday.

Today I’d love to share the simple habits that help me keep my wardrobe organised—and make getting dressed every morning quick, effortless, and beautifully put together.

1. Set aside time for it.
Don’t try to tidy your wardrobe in between other tasks.

Make it an occasion. When you slow down and actually enjoy the process, it becomes surprisingly relaxing—and even inspiring.

2. Treat it like shopping.
Feeling as though you have nothing to wear? Tempted to head straight to the shops?

Wait.

A well-organised wardrobe often feels just like a successful shopping trip.

Once you’ve rearranged the very same clothes you already own, you’ll almost certainly rediscover beautiful pieces you’d completely forgotten about.

3. Organise by colour.
Arrange your clothes so your eyes naturally know where to look.

Finding a coat isn’t usually difficult—but searching for that one specific T-shirt can quickly become frustrating.

And one more thing: never hide small pieces behind larger ones. Don’t hang blouses underneath bulky sweaters. Even if you promise yourself you’ll remember where you hid them, your morning brain probably won’t.

4. Organise by length too.
Most wardrobes have both short and long hanging sections.

Avoid hanging long dresses, jumpsuits or coats where they don’t fit. When long garments rest on the floor of the wardrobe instead of hanging freely, they crease unnecessarily.

Which means steaming or ironing before wearing them.

My mornings are much too busy for that—and honestly, I don’t want them to be.

If you don’t have enough long hanging space, fold maxi dresses or jumpsuits neatly over two hangers along their natural seam.

5. Organise your accessories.
Accessories play a much bigger role in an outfit than we sometimes realise.

Arrange them by colour too.

Once you’ve chosen your outfit, you’ll instantly know where to look for the perfect finishing touches.

Scattering accessories across different drawers and boxes only makes getting dressed harder.

6. Use matching hangers.
They don’t have to be expensive.

Matching hangers instantly create a calmer, more organised space.

Even the most beautiful clothes lose some of their charm when they’re hanging on a rainbow of mismatched shapes and colours.

7. Keep shoes and handbags visible.
Whenever possible, store them where you can actually see them—and, ideally, near clothes in similar colours.

Often your eyes will naturally spot beautiful combinations before your mind even starts planning.

Accessories hidden away on high shelves have a habit of disappearing from memory altogether.

8. Only clean clothes belong in your wardrobe.
If life has been busy and you’ve postponed dealing with stains or loose buttons, set those pieces aside during your wardrobe refresh.

Morning is not the time for stain removal or sewing repairs.

Return only pieces that are truly ready to wear.

9. Be honest with yourself.
Look critically at both your clothes and your accessories.

If something is too worn, no longer fits, or simply isn’t in good enough condition to wear confidently, don’t return it to your wardrobe.

Items collecting dust don’t make mornings easier—they simply take up space.

10. Keep matching pieces together.
Scarves and belts are usually the first things to wander.

Many dresses come with their own fabric belts, which we often swap for leather ones. Instead of leaving those original belts wherever they happen to end up, keep them all together in one dedicated place.

The same goes for scarves.

I love tying scarves onto my handbags. But during a wardrobe reset, I always remove them and store them neatly in one drawer.

That way, when I want a particular scarf in the morning, I know exactly where to find it instead of searching through every handbag I own.

These are the simple rules I follow to keep my wardrobe organised.

Nothing complicated.

Nothing difficult.

Yet every time I give my wardrobe this little reset, my favourite feminine sanctuary becomes calm, beautiful, and inspiring again.

And I know that tomorrow morning, putting together an outfit will feel so much easier than it did before.

Take care of your wardrobe just as lovingly as you take care of the clothes inside it.

You might be surprised by the difference it makes.

With love,

V.
