Little “Mommy”
Since September 1, Patricija has been “beeping” with the same question:
“When can I go pick up Mykolas from kindergarten with you?”
Her classes end at 4 p.m.
Mykolas’ “workday” ends at 3 p.m.
The daily near-misses tore at her heart, each “beep” ringing insistently: “When can I go with you???”
And today, the day finally arrived when we set off together to fetch Mykolas.
Mood?
Like rolling toward the most anticipated celebration of the year!
Finally, after inspecting all her brother’s “stuff,” she smiles:
“Now I’ll be calm.”
“And why weren’t you calm until now?” I ask.
“…Because I didn’t know where you were leaving him. And if he was really okay there.”
In other words: once she’s gone and examined everything through the expert eyes of a SISTER, everything becomes crystal clear—like looking through a magnifying glass.
Otherwise, a heavy pang of worry lodges in the heart: what if he’s left somewhere unsafe?!
For all mothers—big and small.
Mua,
V.
