Honeymoon

Oh dear,- we both smile into our mustaches, happy as cucumbers,- it seems the honeymoon luck has finally smiled on us!
Well, what honey!
Heavenly almonds, sprinkled with powdered sugar!
When we set off to gather the honey, we hadn’t yet built up a rather modest household, so being alone at home and traveling alone never gave the same feeling as now—
After many years.
When we arrive and look around…
At first, in the quiet and the preoccupations of focusing on our own interests, it doesn’t immediately hit you.
Eventually, you realize that there’s nothing to worry about,
no one to put to sleep, no one to comfort, no one to feed, bathe, change diapers, walk, or serve.
No piles of laundry.
No towers of dirty dishes in front of your eyes.
No never-ending “things to buy” lists.
No constant feeling in your heart that you forgot something.
No gentle chaos that, once you live in it, seems impossible to live without.

Bored on a plane flying toward our homeland,
I feel gratitude.
At first, my fingers tingle “to the Generous Fate,”
but then I unconsciously erase that and name the true recipients of my gratitude in words—
To the special Grandparents,
who, having shared their accumulated wealth evenly,
send us off toward honey or heavenly almonds with the words: “Don’t worry, we’ve got everything covered.”

Finishing the thought,
my eyes catch the evening horizon,
and I smile to myself—
When/if I become a GRANDMA and God grants me a bounty of grandchildren—
I must remember the feeling that now lives in a rested heart.
The motto “Don’t worry, we’ve got everything covered” raised high.
If the three of us, follow our footsteps—
I will guide a 3×3 = 9 camp.
