About the small details
Although in life I am quite fast… and rushing, I constantly shout, “I’m not tired yet”—
in business, I turn from a gazelle into an ant.
I carry, shape, arrange, rearrange.
I lift. I place. I change.
Sometimes I laugh, thinking I could bring a “better” needle from across the forest, even though almost the same one lies right next to me, just slightly less liked.
Have you ever seen an ant sitting idly?
I haven’t.
And neither do I ever stop moving.
If not physically, then at least the millstones of my thoughts keep grinding.
The speed seems high, yet the steps are small.
Every time I take a new step, I look left and right.
I weigh.
I measure.
I consider.
I consult.
And only then do I move forward.
So if I am like an ant,
our business idea is like a bustling anthill in the middle of the forest.
Built little by little—under a tiny pile, a barely visible crumb, a feather-light needle.
Yet for each tiny piece we have today, I could write a book.
Those “minutiae” are almost invisible, sometimes unnoticed by others.
But to me—they are the most important.
Because they are an honest, self-earned acknowledgment that we’ve grown.
And we can allow ourselves to take one more small step forward.
Today, in my hand, I turn over our little buttons and “knopkies,” which in the near future will become personalized “Victoria-style” buttons.
The inscriptions on each tiny one will be so delicate that many may not even notice the change.
But today, I celebrate.
After years of dreaming of having buttons with my name,
today I gently stroke the back of my dreaming self, purring beside me.
Small Things. Big Feelings. My dear ladies.
With the tiny things,
V.
