“Vandenynas” Blouse

This blouse comes with one big little story behind it. Of course, there are always plenty of jokes and unexpected moments happening during production, but when a garment has its own little “anecdote”, I simply cannot keep it to myself.

So… back in the depths of winter, knowing that Vasarytė would be bringing the colour blue into our world, we started searching through fabric samples and yarn palettes.

After sighing that we somehow always fall in love with shades that are impossible to find, we sent requests to the factories we work with.

The beautiful blue yarn we loved was out of stock, with a big question mark over when it would become available again.

We passed the information to our knitwear makers with a request: if it comes back, we would like to order blouses from it.

And then we simply put the question aside and continued creating.

Just before the collection launch, our yarn supplier found another factory where the perfect BLUE was waiting for us.

We quickly placed an order and happily waited, rubbing our hands together knowing we would not be left without our beloved blue knitwear.

But then, at the same time, another message arrived — our original order had also been completed, and those first blue blouses were already ready to come home to us.

And that is how we ended up with two blue yarns.

Different, though. One reminds us of the summer sky, while the other carries the feeling of the ocean.

After some thoughtful consideration, we decided that summer did not need two almost-identical blue blouses. So from the new yarn, a beautiful Sky Blue knit sweater was born, earning its place in Vasarytė’s second edition.

And remembering that we are often gently reminded that our summer collections need “more simple everyday blouses”, we thought — this time, we should definitely avoid that little complaint.
