For Wednesday morning
I look at our My, cozily dozing.
And inside, a whirlwind of strong, fresh memories swirls:
Exactly a week ago, at this time, after giving my older children extra kisses for a good day and seeing them off with my eyes for Wednesday, I left home.
Heading toward Santariškės.
It wasn’t raining.
The sun was shining.
In the streets of Vilnius, the morning traffic of the waking city “loomed.”
I saw my husband’s eyes, constantly glancing at me with the question:
“Shall we take the bus lane already?”
And I was deeply calm.
Caressing my belly, fluttering with tiny feet and fists, I looked around.
At the rushing people.
The latecomers.
Those nervously tapping fingers on steering wheels.
Beeping.
Drinking coffee.
“Scrolling” on phones.
Women checking their reflected lips in car mirrors.
And I knew… we were on our way to one of the three most important meetings of my life.
Accompanied by calm and the feeling that IT’S ALMOST TIME!
With small steps, I’m preparing a “collection” of stories for you about my nine months, the great meeting, and the first days at home…
