Mama would gently stroke us, and with the soft, \u201cstuck record\u201d principle, she\u2019d always say:<\/p>\n
\u201cBoth. Equally.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201c\u2014But how can that be?\u201d I\u2019d wonder,
\n\u201cMy sister is older. She\u2019s often not home.
\nAnd I\u2019m the little one, sweet, always by your side\u2026\u201d I\u2019d reason in my mind.<\/p>\n
\u201cCut any finger\u2014it will hurt the same,\u201d I once read her way of comparing love.<\/p>\n
It didn\u2019t take long for me to understand myself.
\nNow, being a mother of three, I pour love with the same spoonful for each,
\nand I no longer marvel at how, when scooping so often from that motherly love \u201cpot,\u201d
\nit never runs out.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s bottomless,\u201d I shrug,
\nand hug my little trio even tighter, all together in my arms.<\/p>\n
