Today\u2014I wear a cozy white sweater. He\u2014a black T-shirt.<\/p>\n
That day, we were nervous as if facing the biggest exam of our lives.<\/p>\n
Today, we laugh recalling it, completely relaxed.<\/p>\n
That day, we were young. One with more hair, the other with fewer wrinkles.<\/p>\n
Today\u2014one of us is a regular at hair dyeing appointments, the other a client of hair trimming.<\/p>\n
That day, we hoped everything would be fine.<\/p>\n
Today, punching each other playfully, we smile thinking, \u201cToo bad no one told us back then\u2014we had nothing to worry about.\u201d<\/p>\n
We restrained ourselves from crystal \u201cprizes.\u201d<\/p>\n
I didn\u2019t get a vase. He didn\u2019t get a goblet.<\/p>\n
We decided that our most precious THREE \u201ccrystal treasures\u201d wouldn\u2019t live on a shelf.<\/p>\n
They are here\u2014by our side\u2014slightly older, but warmed by peace and the fullness of life.<\/p>\n
That day, we planned to be happy.<\/p>\n
Not anything else\u2014and we became that.<\/p>\n
That day, we didn\u2019t know how rich we would become.<\/p>\n
