\nTheir ears catch the subtle tremors in your voice.
\nEven when you think you\u2019re masking your sadness or failure perfectly.<\/p>\n
Moms.
\nThey want to know if you got home safely, if you reached your destination.
\nEven when you think nothing could possibly have happened along such a short stretch.<\/p>\n
As a child, these abilities make you feel safe.
\nAs a teenager, they can be a bit annoying.
\nAs an adult without children, they seem kind of strange.
\nAnd then, when you become a Mom yourself\u2026
\nEverything becomes very clear.<\/p>\n
To hear without words.
\nTo notice what\u2019s invisible.
\nTo feel when it hurts.
\nTo be there when needed.
\nTo hug when necessary.
\nTo sit beside when you\u2019re lonely.<\/p>\n
